Bio:

Scott Crandall, 50, started playing pickleball over 2 years ago in 2019 and is one of the top senior pro men’s doubles players on the circuit. He has been on team electrum since 2019, choosing the electrum pro as his weapon of choice. Currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, Scott teaches pickleball at El Segundo Park where he runs clinics and teaches lessons.

“I love pickleball because it’s both social and competitive. I think pickleball is a great sport because it’s accessible to beginners of any age or skill level and it’s fun even on day one.  It can be a hobby, an addiction and a career all at the same time.  It is an extremely challenging game filled with strategy and fun”.

Why do you use the Electrum Pro?

I use the Electrum Pro because it is extremely maneuverable which is vital to having quick hands. The excellent maneuverability is also important for dinking so if you want to improve your dinking get an Electrum Pro. Lastly, the Electrum spin is a huge weapon if used properly.  My partners and opponents constantly marvel at how many aces I hit and how well I can move the ball to any spot on the court.

What is your best piece of advice for the next generation of PB pros?

The game of pickleball has sufficient complexity that there are many ways to play and succeed, but I would advise any aspiring pro to first master the basics of the soft game before you ignore the rules and create your own winning style.
